We're the opposite of that, on purpose. Mistletoe Construction is family-owned and rooted right here in Riddle — 595 E Third Street, if you want to know where the trucks sleep — and we've built the whole company around a simple idea: we have to see these customers again. Why "Mistletoe"?
People ask about the name. It's an Oregon thing. Anybody who's driven the oak country around the Umpqua Valley in winter has seen those green bundles up in the bare branches — mistletoe, holding on through the wettest, greyest stretch of the year when everything else has gone dormant. That felt about right for a company that does its hardest work in the season nobody else wants to be on a roof. Green when it's grey. Steady when the weather isn't.
A family operation, not a franchise
Family-owned gets printed on a lot of trucks that don't mean it. For us it's the operating structure, not a slogan. There's no regional manager, no rotating cast of subcontractors we've never met, no script. That continuity is the thing you can't fake. It's why we're comfortable telling a homeowner their roof has seven good years left instead of selling them a replacement they don't need: we'd rather have the neighbor than the invoice.

We tell you the real answer. Our free inspection ends in one of three words — maintain, repair, or replace — backed by photos of what we actually found. If a repair is the right call, we'll say so even though a replacement pays us more. That's not charity; it's how a local business survives past its first few years.
We do it once, right. We're an Owens Corning contractor because we'd rather install materials built for western Oregon's soak-then-bake climate than shave a few dollars off the bid with something that won't see twenty winters. Douglas County doesn't allow shingle overlays, and honestly we wouldn't do them anyway — a proper tear-off lets us see and fix the decking underneath.
