A roof near the Coast Range needs both wind resistance and moisture defense, so we build for both. When we replace a roof in Tenmile, we tear off completely to the deck — Douglas County doesn't allow shingle-over-shingle overlays — inspect the sheathing for rot from years of moss or gutter overflow, and rebuild with synthetic underlayment, ice-and-water shield in the valleys and around penetrations, upgraded edge and ridge fastening for the wind, fresh flashing, and Owens Corning architectural shingles rated to hold up in gusty, wet conditions.
Because Tenmile takes more wind than the valley floor, metal roofing is an especially strong option here — it locks down tight, sheds debris and moss, and lasts for decades on both homes and outbuildings. If your roof still has life left, we'll tell you honestly; plenty of Tenmile calls are really moss removal and gutter work. Tenmile's rural, coast-bound lots are exactly the kind of work some city crews would rather not make time for. We're set up for it — family-owned in Riddle, licensed as Oregon CCB #255729, an Owens Corning contractor serving Roseburg and all of Douglas County.
