Roofing built for the river corridor
A roof on the North Umpqua has to fight moisture harder than one on a dry hilltop, so that's how we build them. When we replace a roof in Winchester, we tear off completely to the deck — Douglas County doesn't allow shingle-over-shingle overlays — check the sheathing for any moisture damage from years of moss and gutter overflow, and rebuild with synthetic underlayment, ice-and-water shield in the valleys and around penetrations, fresh flashing, and Owens Corning architectural shingles. On the shaded, moss-prone north slopes, we'll add zinc or copper strips and set you up with a maintenance rhythm that keeps moss from ever getting a foothold.
