Flooring installed right, subfloor and all.

LVP, laminate, hardwood, and tile for Umpqua Valley homes — chosen for a climate with wet boots eight months a year, and installed over subfloors we actually inspect and repair instead of bury.

Material Straight Talk

The right floor for the right room.

  • Luxury vinyl plank (LVP) — waterproof, tough, and the workhorse choice for a climate of wet boots and wet dogs; the wood looks have gotten genuinely good
  • Laminate — budget-friendly and durable in dry rooms; modern water-resistant lines handle spills, but it's not the pick for a leaky laundry room
  • Hardwood — the real thing, refinishable for generations; needs stable indoor humidity and proper acclimation, which we don't rush
  • Tile — the moisture champion for bathrooms, entries, and mudrooms; cold underfoot but nearly indestructible
  • Honest subfloor work — soft spots and squeaks get fixed first, with photos and a price before we proceed, because pretty flooring over a bad subfloor is money buried

One thing we watch for that pure flooring shops don't: where the moisture came from. Stained or spongy subfloors in Oregon homes often trace back to a slow roof leak or overflowing gutters dumping water at the foundation. Because we're roofers first, we can fix the source — not just the symptom. New floors as part of a bigger remodel? That's our general contracting wheelhouse.

Worth Knowing

Water-damaged floors? Check the roof first.

Buckled flooring and stained subfloors after a storm are often an insurance conversation as much as a flooring one. Our guide to storm damage and insurance claims in Oregon walks through documenting damage and getting a claim handled fairly — before you pay for new floors out of pocket.

Questions

Flooring installation FAQs

What's the best flooring for our damp climate?

For most Douglas County homes, LVP is the safest all-around choice: fully waterproof and tough through 130+ rain days a year. Tile wins in bathrooms and entries; hardwood and laminate are great in living areas with stable indoor humidity. We match the material to each room, not one product everywhere.

Do you fix subfloors?

Yes — we check every subfloor before anything pretty goes down. Soft spots, squeaks, and moisture damage get diagnosed and repaired first, with photos and a price before we proceed. If the moisture traces back to a roof leak, we can fix the source too — no surprises on the final bill.

How long does installation take?

LVP or laminate in a few rooms takes one to two days; a whole main level runs two to four. Tile is slower with cure time, and hardwood may need several days to acclimate before installation starts. Subfloor repairs add time — your written estimate spells out the real schedule.

Can you match my existing floors?

Often yes, with caveats. Common LVP and laminate lines can usually be closely matched, and hardwood can frequently be woven in and refinished to blend. But discontinued products and sun fading mean a perfect match isn't always possible — we'll tell you up front, and sometimes a deliberate transition looks better than a near-miss.
